It's a nice poem, with things to think about...

I'm just not a poem kind of person...

When I think about the Holy Spirit living in me I think; Why does he stay? He loves me!

Yes, the love of God, quite amazing isn't it? Not dependent upon us, but only upon Him. As I read your comment this morning my mind was brought back to a old hymn (1917) "The Love of God."

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall for evermore endure
The saint's and angel's song.

Where would we be without the "love of God" and the Holy Spirit in us?!! We would be ships without a rudder or compass ...tossed about on the sea of life.Thank God for leaving us the comforter and guide when He took Jesus back to heaven! Ruthie

Your poem makes me think about the image of God in each of us. It is difficult for me to realize or comprehend that each and every one of us is made in the image of God....every single person. Even more amazing is the fact that once in Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit will dwell in us. How incredible is that?! How wonderful is that?! Reading your poem encourages me to think about who God is...which in turn leads me to who I am in Christ.

Dear SN,

Your response then begs the question: "What does it mean to bear the image of God in us?" And in light of my most recent blog, "in the church?"
